Biggest Polish State Medical University will be new equipped by KaVoBiberach/Riss, 16/05/2012 - After an international bidding in January 2012 KaVo has been awarded to equip the new building for pre-clinic and clinical department at the Medical University of Lodz (MUL).
KaVo will soon install 21 DSE clinical units in the pre-clinic and an additional number of 24 DSE plus units in Masterspace laboratory working places. Furthermore the clinical department will get 13 units of the Primus 1058 S-version. All of these treatment and simulation devices will allow a bidirectional communication between tutor and students due to the connection to the KaVo EDUnet system. The KaVo planning department took care of the technical planning for all rooms of the new building, which will probably be opened in late summer 2012.
The Medical University of Lodz at a glance: The Medical University of Lodz is the biggest state medical university in Poland and was founded on January 1st, 1950 by separating three faculties - Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical – from the University of Lodz. On October 1st, 2002 it was inaugurated as a merger of two medical schools: the Medical Academy of Lodz and the Military Medical Academy of Lodz. The University employs almost 1300 research and didactic staff, including over 300 independent researchers, i.e. 152 full professors, 133 assistant and associate professors as well as nearly 800 PhD academics. Currently, over 8,000 Polish students are getting their education within medical and medicine-related areas at various faculties. Every year about 500 students are doing their studies in the Division of Dentistry in Lodz, that has achieved accreditation rights to carry out continuing post graduate education programs for dental practitioners. The highly qualified academic staff, the modern equipment and teaching aids guarantee high-standard university education for the students. The Institute of Dentistry, which is also the initiator and co-organizer of the annual Central European Dental Exhibition – CEDE and the Congress of Dental Teams, co-operates with many universities and research centers in Poland and abroad.

KaVoLUX 540 LED operating light convinces dentists and expert juryBiberach/Riss, 12/04/2012 - Once again in 2011, DZW – Die Zahnarztwoche and Pluradent AG & Co.KG jointly offered their Innovation Award. Over 4,000 German dentists chose the most innovative products of the year 2011 from ten products each in the categories "Materials and Instruments" and "Devices and Equipment". The KaVoLUX 540 LED operating light indeed won first prize as top supplier in the category "Devices and Equipment". Thus with the KaVoLUX 540 LED KaVo has again succeeded in optimally meeting the needs of the dentists.
Recently the operating light also convinced the critical eyes of the international 30-member expert jury of the red dot award with its outstanding design quality and a fine design language. Thus with KaVo did not only demonstrate an extraordinary design quality but also showed that design is an integral part of its innovative product solutions. The sought-after red dot is one of the globally most appreciated quality seals for outstanding designs. With the introduction of the new KaVoLUX 540 LED, the Biberach-based dental market leader has once again demonstrated its innovative strength when it comes to dental equipment. The light with the most advanced LED technology offers perfect lighting; with its unique optical system and four differently coloured LED's it creates natural white light of the highest quality, at up to 40,000 LUX, at every point in the illumination field. The innovative COMPOsave mode filters out all blue components of the light source and thus slows down undesirable polymerisation of composites. It is thus possible to adapt light-cured materials at a relaxed pace, without having to dim the light.
