Kerr Corporation, a leading manufacturer of dental consumables and KaVo Dental GmbH, leading manufacturer of dental equipment have put together their core competences to create a first-of-its-kind, time-saving filling system for posterior restorations. SonicFill System enables clinicians to perform posterior restorations with an easy-to-use, single-step technology that combines the advantages of a flowable composite with a universal composite. Dentists utilizing SonicFill are able to reduce time for placement, packing and sculpting their restorations. They benefit from a tremendous 30% time saving.
SonicFill System is comprised of a KaVo handpiece that enables sonic activation of a specially designed and conveniently delivered composite from Kerr. SonicFill’s proprietary sonic activation significantly reduces the composite’s viscosity to rapidly fill the cavity, both during and shortly after placement. This viscosity change provides effortless placement and superior adaptation. SonicFill quickly returns to a non-slumping, easy-to-sculpt state that is easy to handle and carve without being sticky. SonicFill’s composite superior strength results in low shrinkage and high depth of cure up to 5 mm, so that dentists can use it with confidence. A specially designed Unidose™ tip with ergonomic shape and small nuzzle allows enhanced access to the cavity and precise placement of the composite. The delivery and the volume is steered by the footswitch of the dental unit.

SonicFill System was presented in Europe for the first time at the IDS in Cologne in March 2011.
