Biggest Polish State Medical University will be new equipped by KaVoBiberach/Riss, 16/05/2012 - After an international bidding in January 2012 KaVo has been awarded to equip the new building for pre-clinic and clinical department at the Medical University of Lodz (MUL).
KaVo will soon install 21 DSE clinical units in the pre-clinic and an additional number of 24 DSE plus units in Masterspace laboratory working places. Furthermore the clinical department will get 13 units of the Primus 1058 S-version. All of these treatment and simulation devices will allow a bidirectional communication between tutor and students due to the connection to the KaVo EDUnet system.
The KaVo planning department took care of the technical planning for all rooms of the new building, which will probably be opened in late summer 2012.

The Medical University of Lodz is the biggest state medical university in Poland and was founded on January 1st, 1950 by separating three faculties - Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical – from the University of Lodz. On October 1st, 2002 it was inaugurated as a merger of two medical schools: the Medical Academy of Lodz and the Military Medical Academy of Lodz.
The University employs almost 1300 research and didactic staff, including over 300 independent researchers, i.e. 152 full professors, 133 assistant and associate professors as well as nearly 800 PhD academics. Currently, over 8,000 Polish students are getting their education within medical and medicine-related areas at various faculties.
Every year about 500 students are doing their studies in the Division of Dentistry in Lodz, that has achieved accreditation rights to carry out continuing post graduate education programs for dental practitioners. The highly qualified academic staff, the modern equipment and teaching aids guarantee high-standard university education for the students. The Institute of Dentistry, which is also the initiator and co-organizer of the annual Central European Dental Exhibition – CEDE and the Congress of Dental Teams, co-operates with many universities and research centers in Poland and abroad.

Recently the operating light also convinced the critical eyes of the international 30-member expert jury of the red dot award with its outstanding design quality and a fine design language. KaVo ESTETICA E80: outstanding ergonomics - newly-defined.Biberach/Riss, 13/04/2011 - The KaVo treatment centre ESTETICA E80, is a dental unit that offers an optimum and ergonomic working environment. At the IDS 2011, the extraordinary concept is newly-defined by the intelligent, intuitive operating logic, the new and perfectly balanced INTRA LUX KL 703 LED Micromotor and the excellent ERGOcam 5 intraoral camera.
The intelligent KaVo ESTETICA E80 treatment centre, even satisfies experienced users. Thanks to flexible adjustments to the individual requirements of the dentist, the E80 enables problem-free working sequences, plus a healthy and low-stress working posture.
As can be seen at IDS 2011, KaVo adds the proven operating logic of the ESTETICA E70 and E50, to the unique ergonomic concept of the refreshed E80 treatment centre. Thanks to manual command via direct-selection keys, chair operation offers intuitive control, so that all functions can be accessed, without a long learning-curve. Such comfortable solutions assist the dental team to feel at ease with the E80, so that users may fully concentrate on clinical dentistry.
The maintenance-free, brushless and sterilisable INTRA LUX KL703 LED Micromotor, represents another new facet of the E80. Due to a weight reduction of 30% and a length reduction of 25%, the Micromotor features perfect balance, leading to more precise clinical working, with less muscle fatigue. The Micromotor is SMARTdrive-optimised and therefore offers particularly low-vibration start-up characteristics, plus full power, even at speeds as low as 100 rpm.
The ERGOcam 5 intraoral camera, is the third new innovation featured on the ESTETICA E80. It delivers perfect intraoral images - even in gingival areas - thanks to a much-increased light-intensity, impressive depth-of-focus and excellent colour rendition. Sharp, high-resolution images are produced, due to improved optics and the new, increased light output of no less than 40,000 LUX.
The innovative suspended chair design - a main feature of the Estetica E80 - offers incomparable freedom of movement and improved legroom, which enhances operating comfort during long clinical procedures. The motor-powered chair lifting mechanism, which offers very comfortable and relaxing patient-positioning, represents a unique feature of the ESTETICA E80. Even a completely level and flat operating surface can be achieved, for the maxillary treatment of children. Thanks to the horizontal movement of the chair by up to 25cm, the head of the patient can be maintained in the same position relative to the dentist - regardless of whether working on the patient's maxilla or mandible.
The unique treatment system of the ESTETICA E80, is supplemented by automated, standardised hygiene functions, enabling easy and time-saving care and maintenance procedures, which thereby eliminate human errors.

Convincingly innovative and comfortably simple.Biberach/Riss, 13/04/2011 - At the IDS 2011, the extraordinary ergonomic concept of the KaVo ESTETICA E70, will be supplemented by new components like the innovative swing-arm table, the perfectly balanced INTRA LUX KL 703 LED motor and the excellent ERGOcam 5 intraoral camera.
The new and sophisticated swing-arm concept of the ESTETICA E70, permits optimum ergonomy. Thanks to the extra-long, 90cm handpiece tubings, the operating field can always be easily reached. Here, finger and hand muscle tension are significantly relieved, thanks to the perfectly balanced swing-arms and their individually adjustable, release-spring forces. The shallow table height of only 45 cm, permits ideal ergonomic positioning and reduced risk of collision with other devices, such as the Operating Light.
The maintenance-free, brushless and sterilisable INTRA LUX KL703 LED Micromotor, represents another Estetica E70S innovation, first seen at this year's IDS. Due to the weight reduction of 30% and the length reduction of 25%, the Micromotor has perfect balance, leading to low-fatigue and precise control during use. Thanks to the extended speed range of 100 rpm to 40,000 rpm, removal of caries and prophylactic polishing, is now possible using just one handpiece.
The ERGOcam 5 intraoral camera is also new. It delivers perfect intraoral images - even in gingival areas - thanks to a much-increased light output, impressive depth-of-focus and excellent colour rendition. Sharp and high-resolution images are achieved, thanks to the improved optical system and the new light intensity, of no less than 40,000 LUX. This enables an image sharpness increase of 12%. Moreover, the ERGOcam 5 is easy to operate, using slide-controls and clearly-defined focus positions.
The known and innovative suspended chair design, which releases incomparable room for increased treatment comfort, represents the essence of ESTETICA E70 philosophy. The operational logic of the E70 treatment centre, which employs direct-access keys, provides such intuitive handling characteristics, that the dental team may quickly and easily master all functions.
