FAQs
The KaVo ProXam iX is a microprocessor-controlled intraoral X-ray unit with a high-frequency X-ray generator. The product has numerous pre-programmable exposure parameters for quick and easy operation. The 0.4-mm focal point ensures high image sharpness with minimal distortion. The extra-long lens tube generates accurate image geometry and guarantees a distortion-free image display.
The unit can be attached either directly to the dental unit or to the wall. To integrate the unit, an empty conduit must be installed between the generator and the unit, with triggering at multiple points. With five different arm lengths and seven different tubes and collimators, the unit offers a wide range of customisable configurations.
We recommend ordering the round tube and the appropriate radiation field limiter/collimator to go with the image receiver.
CALM mode corrects motion artifacts in CBCT images and is ideal for longer scan times and images of restless patients such as children. Eliminating the need for repeat scans reduces the time required and keeps the radiation dose to a minimum. CALM mode (and many other modes) can be activated at any time with a licence code.
A high-performance Dell reconstruction computer is included as standard with all 3D units in the KaVo ProXam range. This means that the customer only needs a small-sized workstation to install the Romexis software for the ProXam system.
Romexis is the software of choice when it comes to creating and processing 2D and 3D images. High-performance optimisation and analysis tools allow for precise diagnoses across all specialist areas. Romexis licences are floating licences – i.e. one licence can be used at several stations (but not simultaneously). Romexis meets the highest standards of security, usability and administration, and allows you to scale up: from 1 licence to 1,000 licences or more.
When ordering Romexis, you must provide an email address and the full name of the recipient.
As a general rule, the sensor and integrated ethernet interface always offer the best price-performance ratio as a set, so it’s best to order them as a set. The most popular combinations are:
- 1 iX + 1 sensor => iX without integrated ethernet interface + 1 sensor set with integrated ProXam iX interface
- 2 iX + 1 sensor => 1 iX with integrated ethernet interface + 1 iX without integrated ethernet interface + 1 sensor set with integrated ProXam iX interface
- 1 iX + 2 sensors => 1 iX without integrated ethernet interface + 1 sensor set + 1 sensor set with integrated ProXam iX interface
- 2 iX + 2 sensors => 2 iX without integrated ethernet interface + 2 sensor sets with integrated ProXam iX interface
Yes, the set is suitable for both applications.
Yes, please order both sets of specimens if you don’t already have one.
We get this question a lot, especially after trade fair presentations, because this is where we do use a stand: at displays and trade fairs. However, the stand cannot support a staggering patient and gets in the way of side access to the unit. As such, a stand cannot be ordered for use in dental practices.
